On 25th May 2024, a team from MAGVIN Research Institute took part in the SIP and CHAT event, organized by the Coalition for Positive Impact (CPI). This engaging event, held at Jam Guest House in Wa, focused on the theme “Fostering Community Development through Leadership and Activism”.
Mr. Vincent Buobodaare Dari, Co-founder and Director of Research and Development at MAGVIN Research Institute, was a key panelist at the event. The panel also included esteemed speakers namely: Hon. Issahaku Nuhu-Putiaha (Former Municipal Chief Executive of Wa Municipal Assembly), Mr Mustapha Ahmed (Upper West Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation), Saudatu Mohammed Danladi (Founder and Executive Director of LifeAgain), and Mulumba Songsore (Founder and Executive Director of Necessary Aid Alliance), moderated by Maazu Bayuoni, the Founder and President of CPI.
The SIP and CHAT event featured an invigorating panel discussion followed by a reception where participants had the opportunity to network and share experiences. The panel discussion aimed to inspire the youth and mobilize communities around a common mission, grow initiatives, and exchange ideas on community development through leadership and activism. It brought together a diverse group of community leaders, activists, academics, and entrepreneurs, fostering an environment for knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
During the panel discussion, Mr. Dari emphasized the critical role research plays in nurturing leaders and fostering community development and activism. He underscored how evidence-based research can guide strategic decisions, ensure the effective implementation of programs, and measure their impact on the community. Mr. Dari also highlighted several key programs organized by MAGVIN Research Institute that contribute significantly to community development:
