Professor Nicholas Fielmua is a Development Planner and Associate Professor of Water Services Planning in the Department of Planning of the SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, Wa, Ghana. He holds PhD Planning from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, MSc Development Policy and Planning, and BSc Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
He is a Member of the Ghana Institute of Planners (MGIP). He is currently the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Planning and Land Management. Prof. Fielmua has over 18 years of in-depth experience in development research, development planning and management, training/capacity building, and teaching. He has researched in various fields of development across Ghana. He has worked with teams to provide consultancy services to local, national and international organisations, including the World Bank, United Nations Organisations, African Development Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, and local and international NGOs. He has published in reputable local and international journals and has also presented papers at national and international conferences.
His research interests include: institutional analysis and collective action in water governance; equity and sustainability in access to water, sanitation and hygiene services; and equity and inclusion in irrigation governance, utilization and livelihoods outcomes.
