Magnus Balanoe Sunnabuo
Magnus Balanoe Sunnabuo is a Co-Founder and Director of Operations at MAGVIN Research Institute. As director of Operations, Magnus leads the organization’s operations, oversees the planning and execution of the organization’s programs and projects, spearheads fundraising and board relations, and oversees strategy implementation and volunteer experience. Magnus is known for his keen attention to detail, strategic foresight, and ability to foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Aside from his work at MAGVIN-RI, Magnus also works as a Farmer Connector with WARC Africa, a leading social enterprise operating in West Africa with a mission of getting farmers out of poverty through agriculture production, service and consulting operations. He also works as a Monitoring and Evaluation consultant for ASA Nwura Company Limited, which operates as a circular economy-driven waste recovery company, specializing in the enhancement of waste plastics and agricultural waste recovery for reuse and recycling. He also works as an assistant lecturer with the University of Education, Winneba (Distance School, Wa). Magnus worked previously as a Volunteer Teaching and Research Assistant with the department of Planning at Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (formerly University of Development Studies, Wa Campus).
He also worked as a research assistant for the African Social Research Initiative (ASRI) of the African Studies Centre. Magnus holds an MPhil in Development Management from the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, a certificate in Sustainable Rural Transformation from the West African Centre for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) as well as a BSc in planning from the University for Development Studies. Due to his dedication, service and contribution to development, Magnus served as the vice president of the Ghana Association of Students’ Planners, organizing secretary for GRASAG at SDD-UBIDS, Member of the GRASAG NATIONAL SENATE, Regional Youth Representative for Ghana Red Cross Society, Upper West Region and Project and Programs officer for Upper West Students Union.
